Frequently Asked Questions

What is financial coaching?

Financial coaching is a supportive, educational process that helps families or individuals manage their finances more effectively. A financial coach works with clients to set financial goals, create budgets, develop savings plans, and improve financial literacy.

Who can benefit from financial coaching?

Anyone can benefit from financial coaching, especially those who feel overwhelmed by their finances or are unsure how to start managing money effectively. It's particularly helpful for people dealing with debt, those looking to improve their saving habits, or anyone who wants to achieve specific financial goals.

What makes a financial coach different from a financial adviser?

Unlike financial advisors who may focus on investment strategies, financial coaches often take a holistic approach, addressing behaviors, mindsets, and habits related to money.

What does a coaching session look like?

Once you schedule an appointment, you’ll receive details about the meeting along with a questionnaire to assess your current financial position. If you submit this information at least 48 hours before our session, I will review it thoroughly and prepare my recommendations to discuss during our meeting. This allows us to maximize our time together by focusing on strategic changes, addressing your financial concerns, and developing a tailored plan to meet your needs.

Do I have to be live in Cincinnati, Ohio to use your services?

No. Our sessions will take place via video conference or by phone. In person sessions at a local public location may be allowed on a case by case basis.

How long does a financial coaching program last?

The duration depends on your financial goals and the scope of the coaching. Some people work with a coach for a few weeks to get a plan in place, while others may work for several months to make lasting changes and achieve their goals.

Is financial coaching only for people with a lot of debt?

Not at all! While people in debt often seek out financial coaching, it’s beneficial for anyone who wants to improve their financial literacy, optimize spending, build wealth, or create a more secure financial future. Financial coaching is for people at any stage of their financial journey.
